Gateway

Dedicated WiFi for your grow room. Run one ethernet cable from your router, and the Gateway handles everything else.

All your OMGROW devices connect to the Gateway instead of your main router. Your router sees one device, one IP address — no matter how many sensors and controllers you have.

Perfect for old routers, weak WiFi coverage, or setups where you don't want grow room traffic on your main network.

When You Need a Gateway

OMGROW devices work fine on most home WiFi networks. But some situations call for a dedicated solution.

📡
Weak Signal
Your grow room is far from your router — a shed, basement, or opposite end of the house. Signal strength below -67 dBm means unreliable connections.
📦
Old Router
Your router is 5+ years old, struggles with multiple devices, or randomly kicks things off the network. The Gateway handles your grow room so the router doesn't have to.
🔢
Too Many Devices
Phones, tablets, laptops, smart home devices, TVs — your router is at capacity. The Gateway appears as one device, no matter how many sensors are behind it.
🔒
Isolation
You want grow room traffic separate from your main network. The Gateway runs its own subnet — your devices are isolated from household traffic.

How It Works

The Gateway is a pre-configured wireless access point that runs its own network. Plug it into your router with an ethernet cable, place it near your grow room, and connect your OMGROW devices to it.

Technically, this creates a "double NAT" setup — the Gateway does network address translation for all your grow room devices, then your main router does NAT again for the Gateway itself. Your main router only sees one IP address.

Double NAT is often a problem for gaming or hosting servers, but for IoT devices that make outbound connections to a cloud backend? It's perfect. Your OMGROW devices only need to reach our servers — no port forwarding, no inbound connections required.

Setup Steps

1
Run ethernet to your grow room

One cable from any LAN port on your router to wherever you want to place the Gateway

2
Plug in the Gateway

Connect the ethernet cable and power. The Gateway creates its own WiFi network automatically.

3
Connect your OMGROW devices

Point your sensors and controllers at the Gateway's network instead of your main WiFi

4
Done

Strong local signal, isolated network, one IP on your main router. Everything just works.

What You Get

Strong
Local coverage
The Gateway sits near your equipment, so signal strength is excellent. No more weak connections from a distant router.
1 IP
Router sees one device
Ten sensors? Twenty? Your main router doesn't care — it only manages one connection to the Gateway.
Isolated
Separate network
Grow room devices on their own subnet. No interference with household traffic, no visibility from other devices on your network.

Simple Hardware

The Gateway is a compact, pre-configured device. No software to install, no complex setup. Plug in ethernet, plug in power, connect your devices.

We configure it before shipping so everything works out of the box. The network name and password are printed on the device.
